ABOUT ME

I always think it’s good to know who you’re working with, so read a little more about me, what drives me and who I am

The photographs are the lasting reminder.

The experience is what

you'll remember first.

That's the standard I set for every wedding I photograph.

I believe wedding photography should feel as effortless as the best weddings do.

Your wedding isn't a styled shoot. It isn't a content day. It's the day you get to marry your favourite person, surrounded by everyone who matters most. My job isn't to turn it into a production. My job is to make sure you can live every second of it while I capture it exactly as it felt.

The best compliments I receive aren't just about the photos. They're about the experience.

That I felt like another guest. That I kept everyone relaxed. That I knew when to take charge and when to disappear. That portraits were quick, fun, and never took them away from their party for hours. Because that's exactly how I believe wedding photography should be.

No awkward posing. No forced smiles. No spending half your wedding staring at a camera.

I'll guide you when you need it, make you laugh when things feel a little awkward, and then step back so the real moments can unfold naturally. The hugs, the tears, the ridiculous dance moves, your nan owning the dance floor, your mates losing it during the speeches those are the moments you'll treasure in twenty years' time.

Experience matters, not because it means I've photographed lots of weddings, but because it means I know how to read a room. I know when to calm nerves, when to get everyone organised without shouting, when to chase the light, and when the moment is simply too important to interrupt.

I want every couple to finish their wedding saying the same thing: "That was so much easier than we expected."

Because if I've done my job properly, you'll barely remember having your photo taken. You'll just remember having the best day of your lives.

    Nathan O'Brien

Photographer, Social Media Manager, Website Designer, Planner, Administration and well… Everything that comes with running a business, that’s the business me.

Hobby enthusiast in my spare time. I enjoy being in the outdoors, gardening, hiking, running, swimming, gaming and a few other “nerdy” things.

Oh and If you can’t tell, I don’t like having my photograph taken either!

  • Individual wearing a gray beanie and backpack standing in a field with a dog

    Edd (Partner)

He’ll kill me for putting this but I bet he won’t read it… … (fingers crossed)

Edd is not only the lucky man who I call my fiance but he’s the one that pushes me to my limit, keeps me motivated (and well fed) and always supports my next steps.

  • Close-up of a brown dog with a white chest and a black nose, wearing a collar, outdoors with a blurred background.

    Blue (The Mascot)

Blue likes to think he’s helping but he’s a bit needy really. He makes sure I go out for 2 walks a day, gives him his dinner and he will be in the background of most zoom calls begging for my attention.

The best emotional support animal I’ve ever had and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

My Hobbies…

I’ll let you in on knowing more about me, because then we can relate, chat and learn about each other. Trust me, it makes taking photographs of or with you, easy!

Gardening / Allotmenting

Growing my own veg, flowers and having that outdoor, hands-on work that results in food… it’s great fun and a great way to relax. But it also means I get great fresh veg straight from the ground every week. It’s hard work, but it pays off.

Outdoor Activities

Going for a 5+ hour hike, kayaking and being near the water, camping and many other things, I like being in the outdoors whenever and whatever the weather.

Gaming (Xbox)

I’m a bit of a gamer mostly xbox and I enjoy most genres of gaming. I may be 30 but I can still have fun and enjoy picking up a controller and having fun.

Beekeeping & Chickens

As well as the dog, we have chickens and bee’s! They’re great fun and beekeeping is the newest of them! They’re hard work too, having to keep an regular eye on them and understand their behaviours, it’s good fun!

Wildlife & Nature Photography

Away from work, I’ll get out into nature or a city and try different techniques that I can’t just do with clients or I’ll take some artsy photographs for the house. Yes, I put my own work up in my house but hey… when you can, why not!

Film’s and TV

Who doesn’t love a film? Well, I can rewatch a film or TV series over and over again, especially if it had me hooked. Love a good recommendation so hit me up with your favourites!
